Weekend Ramblings

Not much of a weekend to brag about, but we soaked up as much time as we could together before E starts traveling for work again. The countdown is on!

Friday; E got home from work and we hemmed and hawed about what to do. The county fair was 10 minutes from our house, and we totally decided to be grandma and grandpa. As in, we grilled out some delicious steaks and curled up on the couch to watch shark tank. Again, we're 28 going on 72.

Saturday:  Day date! I personally love when we mix things up and head to a new town to discover new places. We headed south to take advantage of a gift card from one of my students and lunch at Olive Garden. Totally proud of both of us as we didn't over-indulge like that last time we were there!  Of course, they day wouldn't have been complete without a stop at Home Depot...

Of course, the mandatory rule of our marriage is for every trip to Home Depot, it is followed by a trip to Target. #marriedlife. And guess what was next to Target... a pet store! Obviously I dragged E in there to check out every single puppy and kitten in there. We may have even played with a few of them.

Once we got home, we made the mistake of laying down to watch a movie.... which turned into a 2 and a half hour nap. Oops. And when we woke up around 6, we decided maybe we should get some cheese curds and custards... because that's what you do after a rough day of napping.

I'd like to say the rest of our night was exciting, but unfortunately storms moved in so it cancelled our plans of actually going to the fair to see Justin Moore. Wanna know a sign that you're old?  When your friends still go to the concert, and then get in an all out mud fight and rave about the awesome concert. Yup. Party of lame, right here.

Sunday: We woke up, scoured pinterest, and decided to bite the bullet on our master bathroom remodel. But we needed fuel first, so mexican it was! Followed by the lovely store that is, Menards. Hour and a half later....

We need new vents in both bathrooms, and ended up only going with one for the guest room, as the one we wanted for the master is going to involve cutting into the ceiling... yay? We also grabbed a new sink fixture, and picked out new light fixtures as well. Woohoo! Though as fun as the shopping for it was, I'm not 100% on board for the work it will be. However, if I don't want to help, looks like Chunk will step in.

Linking up for the first time with Biana loved Boston!
