Has it really been 4 years?

When I looked at the calendar this morning and saw a little heart around the date, I had to stop for a second and think. I knew it was our engagement-versary, but I totally couldn't believe it has been 4 years. And that yes, we still celebrate these "silly anniversaries," just because...why not?! What's life without a little celebration, or an excuse to get dressed up and eat a little fancier then we may on a normal Friday night?

I still remember that day so clearly, and can't believe I was that oblivious, to start with. E was in Iowa at a job, and I went down to spend the weekend with him. There wasn't much to do in the town he was in, but we made a trip over to my Grandma's that Saturday. And Sunday seemed to fly by, of course, because it was the day I was leaving.

That morning we did normal Sunday errands together that we'd do when E was home; groceries, lunch, those fun things. And obviously a stop at Target. While we were at Target, I tried multiple times to put my hand in E's side pocket... a little love token I constantly did. And every single time, he'd push my hand away, or grab my hand to hold instead. Hello, clue number one.

When we got to the truck, E tried to convince me to do anything but go back to the hotel. He mentioned going to a park, going for a walk, going anywhere that wasn't our hotel room. But, stubborn me just wanted to savor the last 2 hours together by cuddling on the bed. Very, very reluctantly E agreed. Clue number two.

We weren't even at the hotel 5 minutes when I went to grab something and when I turned around, there was E, down on 1 knee.

I feel like we look like such babies in that picture! I was an emotional mess leaving later, as I was leaving my fiance verse my boyfriend. Thankfully E was home 2 days later for the long 4th weekend, and boy did we whoop it up and celebrate. Cabin time with family, Summerfest just the two of us, drinks with family... it was the perfect way to wrap up our perfect week, and our new beginning.

Happy Engagement-versary babe! Can't wait to celebrate with you tonight. xoxox
